ELITE Rotax Competition
NEW IN 2026
Dutch Racing Series – Elite Rotax Competition 2026
A unique step in karting
Dutch Racing Series proudly introduces the Elite R (Rotax) Competition: a completely new and unique race concept within the Benelux. For ambitious drivers who are ready for the next step, Elite Rotax offers a professional platform where talent can compete under equal conditions.
What makes this concept so special? All drivers participate with identical, professionally prepared Sodi sport karts with 2-stroke Rotax engines – a combination that is hardly offered anywhere in the world. Both the frames and karts will all be brand new and will only hit the asphalt for the first time with you behind the wheel.
Race format 2026:
• Free practice: 20 minutes
• Qualifying: 5 minutes qualifying before each race
• Races:
o Race 1: 10 minutes
o Race 2: 10 minutes
o Race 3: 12 minutes
o Race 4: 12 minutes
Each driver will have 1 kart available per day. There is therefore no kart lottery per race and you will drive all races on 1 day in the same kart.
Two seasons per calendar year
The Elite Rotax Competition has two seasons within one calendar year. Where the regular DRS season adds up all Grand Prix results of one year, the Elite R is divided into two seasons of five races each. This means two entry moments per year.
• Season 1: before the summer break. This will be a try-out season from February/March 2026 until June 2026
• Season 2: after the summer break, from end of August/September 2026 until November 2026
The Elite Rotax Competition GP’s sometimes, but not always take place during the DRS Nationals weekends. It is also possible from now on to register per race day.
Ready for the world top – Sodi World Series
Since the first official DRS season (2024), drivers can already collect points for the Sodi W Series Final. In 2027 Sodi will go a step further: from that year the Sodi Rotax 2-stroke karts will also be included in their final program. The year 2026 counts as the first official qualification year.
Where the current SWS points system awards points in all races with Sodi karts, for the Rotax qualification only results from races with Sodi Rotax 2-stroke karts count. Because only a few organizations worldwide work with these karts, the chance that a DRS driver qualifies is virtually guaranteed.
The Sodi W Series Rotax Final 2027 will be an international top event with a lot of public, media attention and significant prizes. This is a unique opportunity for drivers and also makes it extremely attractive for sponsors. Dutch Racing Series is ready to support drivers who qualify with promotion, guidance and possible sponsorship.
Professional and safe racing
In the Elite Rotax Competition strict standards will apply for the equipment of every driver. The helmet and race suit must meet a determined safety level, supplemented with approved gloves and racing shoes. For drivers younger than 16 years it is mandatory to drive with a rib or neck protector, so maximum safety is guaranteed.
The exact standards will later be laid down in the official regulations. Prior to every Grand Prix DRS conducts additional safety inspections.
Technology
The competition uses new Sodi Sport frames and Rotax engines. Maintenance is fully handled by KombiKart, so every driver can rely on equal and reliable technology.
The Elite R drives on a softer tire compound and drivers may determine their own tire pressure with their own tire pressure gauge. The minimum tire pressure is 0.6 bar. At every GP advice will be given for both dry and wet conditions.
The entry fee includes: tires, maintenance and provided kart. This excludes deposit and any driven damages, and any personal investment in required equipment etc.
Selection procedure and registration
The Elite Rotax is accessible from 15 years. Because this is a try-out season, you can now only register for GP 1 in Genk and a maximum of 10 drivers will be admitted. After your registration there will still be an assessment by the organization, only after this your registration is final.
Registration in steps:
1. Day or season registration exclusive (€250 damage deposit)
2. Assessment Organization
3. Admission by organization
4. Payment damage deposit €250 before start race weekend
5. Briefing and Racing!
Investment in your racing future
The costs for participation in one season, consisting of five Grand Prix’s, or per race day are structured as follows:
The entry fee for one season is €1.999,95 or €399,95 per race day. A season registration may also be paid in 3 installments. Additionally you pay €250 damage deposit before the start of the first race weekend. This €250 also serves as a deposit for any driven damages. For a broken radiator we charge €250 and for a broken sprocket or chain €100.
This deposit will be used if damage has occurred due to the driver. Fault per damage incident is determined by the organization. If it has been determined that damage has been caused, the repair costs will be deducted from the deposit and it is expected that before the start of the next Grand Prix a new deposit of €250 will be paid, or the remaining amount will be supplemented to at least €250. After the last race of the season this deposit will be refunded, provided that this last race naturally runs without damages. A list with fixed costs for the most common damages will be issued at a later time.
Please note: The entry fee excludes training sessions, these are offered separately.
